Power Window Troubleshoot

Okay car is a 98 Civic 2door. The driver window will roll up and down fine but when the glass reaches the top (fully closed) the motor doesnt stop it continues to push and the glass stutters and bounces leaving a half to a quarter inch open. Can anyone tell what causes this or what part I'll need to buy before I gut the door apart to fix it? Thanks in advance.

u need a new window motor n regulator.. im havin the same problem on ma civic 2

I need to replace the whole thing? it seems to me it would be more like a gear or a stopper pin in the track.

I would look in a door that had a working window, and see what needs to be adjusted to the same measurement....-Bob
