what do you do when... (read)
Bring it to my house , give me $200 and ill have it to you by the evening .
you won't get $3000 for an old honda with a d16.. It was hard to get 2000 for an 02 neon with a lot of upgraded new parts and rebuilt engine with a/c ..
I just got a driving 4 door 93 eg with working a/c for free because the guy was only going to get $175 for the car. its clean too..
fix it and get back to work .

first . moved to a forum where you'll get help from Honda owners
next .
i owned a 94 civic ex that "hated" coolant. the prev owners must have driven that car over the red line on the temp gauge till no end. when we took off the timing belt cover it was melted. the head was so warped i could see it without a straight edge. and when a car has been driven like that coolant line after coolant line needed replacement when i got it fixed. =(
okay so 1 question to pose to you is how far did you drive it when it overheats? or did you shut it down and turn on the heat to help cool the engine?
next you have a coolant leak that is hard to find so that more than likely is a small line that has a small leak and when it goes could possibly take your engine with it. so start cheking carefully the small coolant lines.
think the head warped? well check for it. you will have oil in your overflow tank or see a milky oil from the oil pan. you can also get someone with a radiator funnel cap to help you out after you fix the leaking hose. turn on the car, let it run and watch the fluid in the radiator funnel cap device (hard to give it a proper name) to see if it bubbles.
the economy sucks and budgets are budgets so start with the small things first and see if they work out.
also if you sell the car with its current problem then you are going to have to take less $ for it and that doesn't get you ahead. plus who knows what problems the next car may have.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

oh yeah...ever look for a job as a gopher/floor sweeper/assistant at a local garage?they might be happy to get someone for 10-20 hours a week and might even be willing to fix your motor in return for your diligent labor.i lucked into a job like that when i had my 66 pontiac at a shop that restored old pontiacs...best job i ever had.id go in after my regular job in the warehouse, sweep floors, clean parts, etc.and when something needed done on my pontiac the owner would help me out.(or in some instances i would watch and learn)he even built me a killer 400ci motor after a couple of years, plus i learned upholstery work and restored my pontiac and mustang there.
fix it

i stoped feeling sorry for myself today asnd got to work trying to find the oil leak. i know what general area its coming from but dont know what exactly is leaking. im its coming from the thermostat housing or around that.
are there any engine diograms online that i can look at to see ths area better so i can find the exact leak?
