Default a/c help

Alright. A/c is not my forte', so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Back when I had the motor rebuilt in February, I had them put in a new compressor and recharge it. It ran ice cold....for a day and a half. Then nothing but warm air again. I assumed there was a leak, and just left it alone. Well today i decide to go get one of the refill/detector kits with the gauges attached and the dye in the freon. I hook it up to check the pressure, and it's at 46.....the ideal pressure is 25-45. Not to mention the air is running cool....not COLD, but not hot like before. I drove around for a bit with the a/c on to see what happened. It pretty much stayed the same. I got home and checked the pressure again, and it was up to about 47 psi. As soon as the compressor kicked in, it went up slightly, and then back to 47. What can this be? Could it be running warmer than it should because it's overcharged? Any suggestions?

But if there IS a leak..wouldn't the pressure be way down instead of too high? Maybe I wasn't clear, I DIDN'T add any freon today, I just checked the pressure. It was already at 46 etc so I certainly didn't put any more into it...

Yesterday I discovered that the condensor fan is NOT coming on all the time. When it DOES, the air blows cool...naturally. But still not cold. Now is there a relay or any certain wires I should check on the fan?
