Anybody using 2 different brands of drop springs?

I dont drive a Honda but I figured theres a lot more import gearheads on these boards esp. when it comes to drops.

I plan on purchasing 2 diff. brands for my drop some in front some in rear but some people on another board said that if you do that you risk some real problems harsh ride and constantly bottoming out because the springs are built with rates to balance each other out. I dont see a problem if I upgrade the shocks too. Anyone know if itll be okay? The rides not important but if it causes handling PROBLEMS because of conflicting rates then I wont do it.

the only reason i would see a point in doing something like that would be for say drag launch situations but thats nothing some good adjustable shocks or full coilover kits couldnt do for you as well. and even if you drive a domestic rwd vehicle there are other suspension mods that will yield a better reaction to power that 2 different kinds of springs.

Why go through the hassle? Just buy a set of coilovers like suggested above.
As for what people told you...bullshit. You wont bottom out unless youve got pathetically low spring rates or your drop is too low and you ride the bumpstops. If you absolutely MUST buy two different sets or springs just make sure you keep them linear or progressive and that you use the same set for the front corners and viceversa. Also no need to upgrade the shocks unless youre planning on using springs with such a high spring rate that the stock shocks wont handle it or like GTi-R mentioned above going so low as to restrict full suspension travel.

No one makes coilovers for my car thats the problem. And the 2 brands that make springs to work at all 4 corners of my car dont drop it more than an inch up fron and I have about 4 hideous inches of gap.

I can buy springs for a wagon where the fronts will fit my sedan. But then I need to buy the Eibachs or Intrax for the rear.

I really want Eibachs since theyre the best but they have nearly no drop and would probably RAISE my car since the 8 year old springs are sagging.

Which end would I cut? The soft end right? If I cut the stiff end wouldnt I bottom out more?

Dont cut your springs it will give you one hell of a shitty ride. Not a good idea at all.

As for not being able to find springs for your car well give Eibach a call. They dont just sell springs in kits they have all types of custom springs meaning that you can choose your spring rates diameter spring height and drop rate. Your best bet would be to take some measurements of your OEM springs drop Eibach a line telling them what you need and try to get some part numbers together for ordering.

Ok someone started making coilovers for my car starting about month ago. But $900/set seems kinda steep then Im gonna need 1000 for shocks and another couple hundred for minor suspension parts. What do coilovers typically run?
