Default stalling...due to charcoal canister?

I've read a million threads on this for people removing the charcoal canister for wire tucks, and it all comes back the same that there is no way it should have an effect on normal driving. I blocked off the line from the throttle body and left everything else loose. I started it up...ran fine. But now for some reason its stalling if i downshift higher in the RPMs. Has anyone else removed it from a D16z6 and had a similar issue? I didn't change anything else on the car at the time so thats the only reason I'm even asking this question about this dumbass canister (and yes...i would put it back on, but it vanished from the shop over the night I took it off to the next morning)

The stalling shouldn't be related to the charcoal canister. Make sure you left the hardline that goes to the canister unplugged. and make sure you have a good vacuum cap over the nipple on the throttle body not a piece of vacuum line with a bolt stuck in it.

Nice... I see the mad tyte JDM bolt trick on more swapped Hondas then I would like to admit. Vacuum plugs are dirt cheap and yet I have seen shops do a swap and remove the canister without using them.

Every swap I've done we have removed the canister. Completely take it out and route a hose from the metal nipple coming out of the fire wall to below the engine bay. This hose vents excess pressure that is in the fuel tank. That is all the canister does but instead of venting to the atmosphere it sucks the excess gas back into the combustion chamber. That is why the vacuum nipple you plugged on the throttle body only shows vacuum when you press on the gas pedal and not at idle.

well thanks guys...i figured it was unrelated too, but just wanted to see if anyone happened to have another problem with theres. guess ill have to get more in depth on it since its not throwing any codes either...I also did a vacuum test on it afterwords and it blew the tester off before we found any leaks so we figured that was good...maybe something with the tune? well thanks again

thats funny i went to the site in ur sig about the db drag race and ur car made exactly the same sound as been 1300 feet away from a launch pad...

Based on this data, the shuttle established a peak “dB Drag” SPL of 147.7 dB at 20 Hz.
