Default Brake conversion?

I have a `99 EK SiR hatch and have a friend parting out a JDM DC5R. Will his brakes be able to work on my hatch? I have heard that there is a bracket needed for the rear and somebody else said they had to swap the left and right rear brakes to get something else to line up.

A second question is, would my coilovers work with this conversion, or do I need to go to DC5 coilovers?

The civic currently has `96 JDM ITR brakes (4x114).

Oh yeah, this car will be race-only. It will see road courses around the Caribbean, and possibly some tarmac rallys. Yes, I know somebody will hate me for this

Thanks for the info. I have since found out that if I go with the `98 JDM DC2R hubs, I can mount the JDM DC5R brakes on with some custom bracket in the rear.

To give you some idea of tire/rim size, I will be running 225/50/15 Toyo R888 on 15x8 rims.

Yes, I have thought about just sticking with the DC2R brakes and going with Spoon calipers, but this option is cheaper. It's not like I'm doing this just for looks. That's what my drag civic is for

I will update as this brake project gets going.

LMAO Your deleted comments should read "person found out I was a prick"

I asked you for your opinions. You had a screwy way of voicing your views. I felt insulted by your comments. I expected positive suggestions, not somebody trying to shoot me down.

Mods, just delete this thread. I will only submit questions based on USDM cars from now on.

I was able to find out from friends of mine who are on K20 and DC5 forums. I've also been doing a little questioning on honda-tech as well.

I recently bought a crashed 2000 JDM ITRx. From what I gather, it's the rarest out there. They are yellow with yellow Recaro SRDs and even come with a yellow ignition key. The one I bought is #150. Sad thing is, it was brought in used, so somebody in Japan swapped the interior for the usual black with red stitching SRD package.

I have found out that I will need a bracket for the front DC5R calipers and simply install the DC2R 5 lug conversion. I will try to document the conversion on here since nobody has done it before.

Just to give you an idea of the size of the Cayman Islands, every person living here could fit into Tampa Bay stadium with seats left available.

I will only be using the rear rotor and caliper from the DC5 and mount them to the DC2 hubs/trailing arms and use EK LCAs.

I mentioned in my first post about tarmac rally racing. Here is a link to some of it in Barbados Welcome to JustBajan.com - Information Resource

This is a bit offtopic, but what wheels will you be running the R888s on? I've been wanting to get some 15x8s and run 225/45/15 Hoosier A6s, but I'm alway worried about fender clearance. I'd like to find some 15x8 +30 offset wheels, but I can't find any and I don't think the tires will clear on +36s

I don't know if you remember, but there was a red EK hatch on the cover of grassroots motorsports that had a k20 swap.

He had 15x8 with 36 offset. The guy competed in H1 but parted it out and a friend of mine bought the shell. Links to it should be on k20.org I think.
