Valve adjustment
Sort of but I wouldnt worry about it. Adjusting the valves so that lash is tighter will result in the valve opening sooner (minimally however) and vice versa. You can try and tune the intake event and exhaust event a little with valve lash but the gains are small at best. With OBD2 youll also end up triggering a MIL after some time if the valve lash is too out of spec. So with that said I tend to keep mine on the tighter side of the Honda specs and my car is happy.
dont make them any tighter then stock the reason there is a certain clearance is so that oil can get between them to reduce friction leave them stock !

The reason there is a certain clearance is because of valve timing and lift. Oil can easily flow onto the contact point during the compression stroke and each respective valve set during the intake and exhaust strokes.

yeah but the rods bearings are flat but yeah Ill fess up one time I did a valve adjustment and my dumb as was turning the motor clockwise instead of counterclockwise and the valves ended up being loose but the car would at least start i couldnt figure it out why they were so damn loose so I said fuck the feeler guage im just gonna tighten them till they dont feel loose at all (you make bad decisions when youre drinking) went to start the car lets just say I could here the crank turning and the pistons coming up but damn where the hell did my compression go. Thats when I busted out the helms to see what I was doing wrong and as I read the step about turning the crank counterclockwise (which I already knew to do just didnt dawn to me I was turning the wrong way) I realized what the hell the problem was.

Sounds like you tightened em so much that you actually caused the valves to unseat. Too much beer will make you do some interesting things on cars I know Ive had my share like upside down LCAs.

if oil can get between your rod bearings and your mains it can easily get in there the reason they have a recomended clearance is so you dont end up with a bunch of excessive valvetrain noise and so the rockers still allow the valves to open and close. If you do go too tight your motor wont start. .001-.002 tighter is fine go much more than that and youre starting to ask for trouble.

I set up mine to .006 and .008 and the rev better. But for some reason I dont like the way the car is felling. It seem that is nto getting good low end. I m thinkin that since I have a problem with my head gasket this migth be trowing me off but I dont know. After I adjsuted the valves my car is vabrating at idle. Anyone knows is this will be because the valve adjustment? I think that the head gasket has to do with it but I also think that the valve adjustment has to do with it. Do I need to retuned the car or something. Any imput will be greatly appreciated.
