Is 2 Out 3 Bolts In The Driver Side Motor Mount Enough???
I mentioned this briefly in a different post, but i was on the dyno and on the last run when my motor hit rev limiter at 8300rpm with the motor making 232whp and 174fpt ( they admit that their dyno reads low i could be around 250whp) the top motor mount near the timing belt ripped off the block.
turns out the guy who built the motor left the bolts that go in to the block though the mount loose. and one of them was too short and only 2 treads where able to go into the block. so after a bunch of runs on the dyno one bolt came completely out, the short one pulled out and the one tight bolt just snapped off in the block. when in broke something hit the timing belt and the motor jumped time 2-4 teeth. but after it was replace all was good
so some people say i will be fine with only 2 bolts holding the mount saying d-series motors only have 2 bolts to begin with and people have made 3-400whp on the stock mounts.
seeing how its a huge process to replace the broken bolt, i want to know if my motor will be fine with just 2 bolt, i will make sure they wont come loose again i already put lock tight on the bolts. and i'm not going to bouncing the rpm's off limiter again anytime soon, and i hardly race
and if it does bust will it jump time again or was that just a freak thing.

It really should have all three bolts, a good belt and a good tensioner.
Especially if you have some power.-Bob
Jumping timing may be related to something else.
Is the belt new? Is the tensioner/spring new?

with the motor making 232whp and 174fpt on the low side yes you need all the bolts a dyno is the safest place for a car to run everything is perfect the track and for sure the street will be way harder on the mounts .
PS: 232whp and 174fpt on the low side NICE WORK BRO HAVE FUN GODSPEED

ok so all i can do it drop the motor or try and raise it to where i can drill out the bolt, once i get the snapped bolt out a new one will go right in. i wish there was an easy way to get the broken part out. may be jb weld something to the end of the broken parts and just unscrew it. or i here there is a grabber thing that can get the screw piece i need out of my block. it taps in the the broken screw and then you can just unscrew it out

thanks man i don't know what on the low side means but after i get this bolt fix i am going to take it to another dyno just to see the difference in the numbers, see how much off the dyno i got the car tuned on was off. i'm guessing i will make close to 250whp, my goal is to hit 250 in this car, one day.
