Please do not try this you must bang/notch the area where the tranny goes for clearence and there is no correct ecu for you to run this swap in your car....It would be a hella night mare...there are other sites that you can see why NOT to do an auto swap into a 97 and an auto to manual conversion is very simple to do once you collect the necessary parts...sans the pedal switch over (PITA) thats really the hardest part to the 5 speed conversion. just my 2 cents.

He's saying just do a 5speed conversion. Your insurance won't know about it, and your rates wont go up.
Doing a B series swap and keeping it auto is kind of ass backwards.

Umm what about a JDM SIR II Automatic ECU. Once you get the mounts taken care of all you would need is a wiring diagram to see if you are missing any wires for any auto tranny related ish.

Hmm is there a transmission module with the obd2 sirII automatics?(If so you would need the module and wiring diagram) I've seen an obd I b16 auto before. I shouldve asked the guy to tell me if he did anything special to the wiring. I didnt see any plugs other than vss(on the tranny), and there was a tranny to throttle cable. If my memory serves me correctly.
