Default ->->-> Will This Alarm Stop Thieves?!?!

sooo i got a civic and i keep hearing about them all getting stolen, and some say you can't do anything to stop them or they will take it if they want it.

so i'm upgrading my security on the hatch and i want to know if any of you see any weak spots in the setup i plan i getting.

SO HERE IT IS:

i will start by having a 2way alarm (not to expensive) installed, one with the long paging capabilities, i will add some kind of hood protection ether a pin or the ball bearing switch thing, i will also have a tilt switch installed so if its lifted i will be paged,
the car doesn't have power locks but i'm going to have actuators installed so it will have remote door locks, but once they add those i'm going to have the original door locks disconnected, so you couldn't pick the lock.
next i will have a back up battery installed in the car, along with pain generators (pain generators are very loud siren type things). (incase the siren or battery under the hood is cut)
after that i will have kill switches on all the major things that make the car go. and i will also use a pedal locking device until i can afford the detachable steering wheel.

one question i do have is if i feel really nervous about were i park, would i be able to take the computer (ecu) with me and the alarm would still function

so thats the set up i'm think about doing, but please do add comments like "know they know how to steal it", cause i traded my car and haven't posted anything about the new one i have yet. also it lives in a garage with a car parked behind it at all times, and i'm not telling weather i have GPS on it or not.

also please do go on saying i'm educating thieves cause i didn't know anything about alarms like a week ago and i got most of the info from one visit to the local car audio store. so i'm sure thieves who study this shit know lots more

ok so i priced it out too:

--- the 2way alarm installed ......... $200 - $250
--- the back up battery ................ $30
--- tilt sensor ............................. $40
--- pain siren ............................. $12 each
--- door actuators w/ istall ........... $100 - $120 pair

The kills switch i will be doing my self and i plan to spend $30 for the switchs i will need and the pedal lock thing

so in total i figure it will be under $450 to make my car a very hard to steal, i know after it pages me its a matter of how fast i can get to it, so the key to have enough stuff to slow them down till i get there.

theres is no thief proof alarm, if they want it they will take it. i would spend that $450 on a quick release with lock, thats what i have

i thought all the quick release steering wheels are the same, so all they need is their own steering wheel, then they can drive the car away.

i would go with the paging system and a GPS

um its actually a hub, quick relase, steering wheel and lock . for $260 you get this

NRG COMBO #3 (QUICK RELEASE/SHORT HUB/LOCK) :: NRG :: STEERING / QUICK RELEASE :: COMBO PACKAGES :: weksos industries

add nardi steering wheel and youll still be below $450 bucks
