Default Custom painted Y8 v-cover

It's kind of a root beer color. LMK what you think.

Is it expensive for a new gasket? I'm new to cars but I know just about everything there is to know about motorcycle motors. Anyone ever use the Duplicolor Metalcast? Makes it look anodized I have red i'm thinking about doing mine just for the hell of it. Blue looks pretty trick too check it out.

As far as the D-series valve cover, it looks alright. I'm more of a "Black is Beautiful!" type of guy, LOL.

^^ thats srpay paint with a very good coat of claer and lots of prep work. you can make it look good but u have to prep it almost as long if not longer than it takes to paint it lol.

cburke, you need to tape off around the areas that dont need paint, like the spark plug holes, where the oil cap screws down, the breather vent, and where the valve comver grommets go. once these get hot the paint will melt to whatever bolts down there and its a mess. good work tho i like the color and finish.

yes, def. tape off those areas next time....also that blue valve cover looks sick. was it just the Duplicolor Metalcast, their website says to use some kinda ground coat if not painting chrome. is that what was done to this one?
