Im trying to change my passenger side axle on my b16a1 CRX.
Im having some difficulty.
When I slide the new axle into place it only goes in 3/4 of the way in and stops. It will NOT go any further. The old busted axle goes in all the way with no problem at all. Both the new and the old axles are identical axles from Autozone.

The teeth on both axles are identical and not damaged at all.

Is there something that Im doing wrong?

Any insight would be much apprietiated.

Thanks
Mike.

have you tried to twist it and slam it with a hammer (LIGHTLY to assist it)?

Ive tried twisting it around but I have not tried slamming it in or hammering it. I didnt want to force it too hard because I didnt want to risk damaging any of the teeth/gears on the axle or in the tranny.

I guess next try would be a little light hammering...

Thanks for the input.

My axle is in and the Rex is back on the road!

You guys were right...I used a rubber mallet and it popped in.
