88 Accord alternator removal

Has anyone ever pulled the Alt from an 88 carburated Accord? Unbolting the alt was simple but ive been trying for like 30 min to figure out how to get it physically out of the car. The only way I can see is out the Dr side between the block and the k-frame. Except the alt is about 1/8 too wide to fit! Ive even unbolted the front motor mount and lifted the front of the engine up a little... no luck. Ive also taken off the lower alt bracket that bolts on to the block. I cant see it coming out any other space unless I pull the carb and take it out the top... but I REALLY dont want to get into that. Any help please?!?!?
I dont know about your model accord but on a couple of civics and crxs Ive had to pull the drivers side axle and drop it out the bottom.

Its an accord dx. Thanks for the replies guys I got it out. I ended up unbolting the Dr side motor mount and twisting the motor down enough to make it clear. I did have a mechanic guy tell me that they are a real PITA to get out.. and you probably have to pull the axle. But I wasnt about to get into that. Damn I appreciate my Dodge more than ever now! Hehehe

I should hope not! Hahaha Even my 82 is a piece of cake compaired to this. In that car the alt is right up front on the top. The water pump is back in the corner but those are small (boy is it small) so it doesnt matter as much. None of the Cophers have the alt either and they want $100 to rebuild it.. so ill have to try my luck and get an Autozone one.. just the thought of an autozone alternator scares me. Hopefully it wont die right away and cause me to change it again!
