Help with turbo teg
Ok my friend has an ls completely stock with a turbo kit on it. The motor sounds like it putters when it idles...wanted to know if it would be a reliable car to have. Hes running 8 pounds on stock engine. Help please

This is a very vague question...more detail needed. Have you ever done a compression test on it? How many miles on it? Who installed the turbo kit? Is it all quality parts? Who tuned it? Many more things need to be answered before we can say if its even a decent car.

the turbo kit was on the car before he got it. he said something about it being a rebuilt ls. its an ebay turbo kit also. i cant reall explain the puttering. when it idles it just idles and backfires almost. its wierd. it might need a tune n some valves. but i also heard its not good to boost a stock motor

Stock motors are fine to boost so long as they are tuned right...sounds like too much fuel to me. First off, the ebay kits suck. Second, they usually "tune" with a missing link. Throw that thing away and get a real tune.
