i was just wondering what conditions trigger vtecs activation..

My understanding is that the number of rpm. In our cars the tech will activate around 4000 rpm. In acura around 5000 rpm. Somebody correct me if Im wrong.

its based on an RPM switch (5500RPM - 99+ Si) for the electrical side and oil pressure for the mechanical side.

The first Gen B16s activate at 4700. the hydro tranny B16s activate at 5500.
