Compression, yes...
Compression ratio, no...

The heads were also cut twice. would that affect anything?
no real problem just had it rebuilt and the compression is high so it blew out a bunch of engine gaskets and its bleeding oil like crazy.
before it started leaking it was fricking crazy fast with like 12% throttle.
but the gaskets are 13 y/o so i guess its not that bad for rubber parts. is there anything else I should watch for?

How much did the head have shaved off in total?
Shaving the head will raise the compression ratio...
The only gasket that should actually see the higher compression is the head gasket.
depending on how high the CR is now, you may have to run some higher octane fuel.

when motors are rebuilt generally the heads are slightly milled and the blocks are slightly decked. so yes the cr will go up as will the psi when u do a comp test.

just found out that my oil pump is bad. do you think swapping it with one out of my spare block would be bad?
