Divided Manifold question....
Does a divided turbo necessarily need to run two wastegates? I was searching online for different h22a divided t4 manifolds, and all of them that I ran across had dual wastegates? My question is.. is it necessary to run two wastegates and what are the advantages as opposed to running just one.

Generally a divided manifold is designed for a large turbo which requires two wastegates to prevent boost creep.

if you run a divided manifold it is amust that you run two gates, if not you will bleed off exhaust pressure unequally which really throws things off balance in terms of engine dynamics.
you can run a divided or twinscroll turbo on a non divided manifold, but you cant run a divided or twinscrol manifold and not run 2 gates, unless you have the fab skills to join both gates into a larger single gate like a 60mm or so
