ecu question
you can keep the p28 and chip it with the jdm pr3 maps. but youll have to get it tuned and tell the tuner what mods you have on the motor so proper tuning takes place. or till you wana tune it get the pr3. but if the ek got a b16 in the car it should work. but if your already wired for vtec in your eg stay obd1. no reason for rewire if already wired for vtec
I would not recommend running a stock b16 on a stock p28. It can be done, however I would not put the motor into high load conditions.
You should have the ecu tuned for the motor you are running.

it might run but i dont recommend running it without tuning it first. even if its a stock motor you still get more power out of the p28 ecu rather than the p2p or the pr3 .. but get the pr3 obd1 till you have the money to put a few mods and do the p28 but obd1 is the way to go ...
the p28 is meant for a single cam vtec motor. If you absolutely need the car to run, do not go above 3-4k RPMs if you are using this ecu. Have someone socket it and burn you p30(obd1 b16 maps) maps onto your chip. Then you will have your car running right, and ready for whatever extra mods you want to throw at it. Or you could just trade your p28 for a p30 and be done with it no extra socketing/chipping needed.
