My cousin just ordered everything to boost his y8 and we needed to know if he should use the lightened 7lbs flywheel or jus use the stock flywheel? He wants to run a 10psi daily driver...

 

too light for boosted. best is 11lbs.

so id say stay stock or get an 11lb flywheel.

 

zing. lightened flywheels really benefit for in the n/a cars. they spin too fast and youre changing gears before you even hit full boost.

WHAT!!!
It has nothing to do with it spinning to fast and you hitting boost........It just lightens up your rotating mass, makes everything spin easier. The only thing is a 7lb is more for racing and an 11lb is more for street use. You can use what you want you’re not going to hurt anything. Your tranny is what lets you stay in boost longer, right along with your turbo and how big it is. You need to be more concerned with the Y8 oil pump then any thing eels. There no good for high boost.
