I have a set of rat axles on my civic and when i swapped my tranny the outer boot on the drivers side slipt and dumped out some grease. The boot did not tear at all...just seemed like a case of a clamp not being tight enough. We slid it back on and its been on scince but I really want to inspect and re-up on the grease content of that boot. How hard is it to do this and what is required to do it...

I appreciate any help I can get on this one..

Thanks

P.S. The main reason for my High Concern is the $$$ I payed for these. I got the Real Beefy set hoping I would not have CV Joint problems anytime soon.

Thanks Again

Thanks John I appreciate it i want to go ahead and get it done this weekend...what kind of grease would you recomend...any special tools?

----ABOUT RAT AXLES----

Well I had talked to the owner His Name is Glenn at Moroso a few months before I ordered and told him Im slowly puting my car together and hell hear from me in a few months. When I called Him like 4 months later he remembered exactly who i was and what i needed so that made me pretty happy. He hooked me up big time I got practicaly stage three axles for $360. THen on top of that I needed them like the next day but couldnt happin because i needed to mail him the money order. So get this glenn(owner) says hey Ill go ahead and overnight them to you at no extra charge and just send him the money if im satisfied I couldnt belive this but it made me even more happy with my purchase. I have had no trouble with them this happend when we were switching Trannys so it coould have gotten tugged on.

Just hit discount and get pick up a tub of grease for CV joints.
One thing you will need though is a band tool depending on what style bands you are using (there are two different types). Also youll need some latex gloves and a lot of shop towls or else you will become one MESSY son of a bitch.

crx your bearings are bad...silver eg first go to pep boys and get a tube of grease get a set of their bands for $5(comes with one small and one large) you can pinch them without the band tool($9.95) just pliers. Just jack & support the side of the car or front remove your wheel cut the old band(s) move the boot down the axle a little and look for dirt or debris get as much as you can out repack it with grease fill it up band it test it.....easy as pie but yeah your gonna want to take bill and destructs advice and get some rags and brake fluid(also removes tint) or you WILL be one dirty bastard afterwards....A LOT OF RAGS...if she starts to click pm me and I will tell you how to rebuild it....
