okay tr members i am torn apart atm.. im trying to make a good all motor b17... thinking about boosting but really dont want to,,,,. and i need help... whats the best way to go??? best set up for all motor... also need it to be a reliable engine... all post welcome.... thx

well b17 is just like a b16 so all its hard to make it fast,but i would go with some Ctr "pct" pistons and tt retainers with itr valve springs.a set of itr or buddyclub cams a 10lb flywheel and nice street/strip clutch should make u alittle happier.....or sell the bottom end to someone who thinks its rare and buy a ls bottom it will make more power stock then a built b17 bottom

Its still a B-series Vtec.. motor...


im running a B18c bottom end.. bored .020 over with CTR replica nippon pistons...
with a B16 head with CTR cams, Springs and retainers...

Blox intake mani, DC 4-1 header, Full greddy cat back....

Soon going in.... Cometic headgasket, arp head studs....

A nasty little setup.... high compression tho..

Hauls ass...


Havent seen many fast 1.7 set ups...

isnt that a rare motor...?? old gsr right???

they're basically the same casting ,the bolt patterns to the b16,b17,b18c5 mani are the same,All those manifolds are compatible with each other. 94-01 GSR/90-01 LS manifolds will not fit on those heads.
