Default vtec/oil pressure help???

ok guys, i have an LSV setup, b18A1 bottom end with b16 pistons and a CTR head with gsr cams...ok so the problem is im buring oil with a passion. for example, if i get on the interstate and get the oil pump soaring around 4000-4500 rpms, within a 2 hour drive ive used a whole quart. ive heard of hondas burning oil but not that much haha

when i got the car vtec worked, after a few days it turned into like a 3stage vtec, it would increaseingly get stronger and stronger throughout the vtec band and more and more blue smoke out the back of the car. i pulled all the plugs, cylinder #4 is black and all the others were fine...ok so its obvious thats the cylinder that im burning oil in. ok well the motor only has like 3000 miles on the rebuild, cylinders were honed and valve stem seals were replaced...what im thinking has happed is maybe one of the valve stem seals was ripped while putting it in??? mistakes happen. my compression is 210 across the board, perfect for that setup, so i dont think that my rings are bad or that the cylinders are warped from being such an old block. but someone please correct me if im wrong. car doesnt smoke nearly as bad when its not in vtec, but thats typical.

now we can get down to the good shit. ok so my vtec quit working, but no code, so i went out and was determined to break the damn thing and finally got it to throw a code, 22 for vtec pressure valve??? which part of the vtec solenoid is that??? the top part with one wire, or the bottom part with the green clip and 2 wires??? i dont know which is which. lol

so the final thing that im tryin to figure out with this car is the oil pressure...ok so when im driving and im right about to cross over into vtec, i have 62lbs of oil pressure. I think that is pretty good, not sure tho?? but when i hit vtec it drops to 41 or so. thats a huge drop...could too much oil be going to the head and that could be the cause of the smoking??? i mean it drops like that and vtec isnt even working anymore lol

im on my knees begging this car to give me some answers on what needs to be replaced, i hate to tear it down and waste the money on gaskets and fluids if i cant find anything wrong with it...so if anyone can help i would really appreciate it

thanks in advance,
Carl

but in all honesty, I would suspect a valve guide leak. you know, you can take off the valve cover and see a torn valve guide seal pretty easily, you just have to know what to look for. they make this neat little tool that allows you to take off the valve springs and such with the head on the block. you can find it here, Euro Export, Inc. . I own one and it works pretty goddamn well. I am pretty sure you can use it on a non-vtec head, though I have never tried.

so your saying that it is a good possibility that its a valve stem seal leak??? or a bent valve guide???

Wow that is a lot of oil your losing. Are you sure your not leaking anywhere? Is there oil around the valve cover, oil pan, anywhere on the motor? Maybe you need a thicker oil. What weight are you running now?

the car is not leaking a single drop anywhere...im running 10w-40, should be plenty thick enough...another reason that makes me think that its a valve stem seal and not my RINGS! is that when i first cold start the car and drive it for the first 1/2 mile, the car smokes bad too, like oil has leaked through the valve stem seal and into the cylinder and then when i start the car it is burning it off

or i guess the rings could be cold and not expanded, but i still have perfect compression
