Hey guys i have a 1994 Honda accord lx and my Rpms will not go any higher than 4, is doing it at any gear! PLEASE HELP ME OUT!

 

Check your throttle position sensor.

Any CEL codes?

 

see if its messed up or bad connection? and yes i do have chek engine but i took it to pepboys and they could connect the machine because when ever they did the swap on the engine they messed up alot of wires

 

What year is your car? What year engine did you swap in? What ECU do you have? You might be able to check the old fashioned way.

You should check for a bad connection, if it looks good, then you'll need a multimeter and the specs for the sensor to test the output to make sure your sensor is still good.

 

wow this just happened to me before you go replacing parts because the ecu says they are bad use someone else ecu and see if you get the same result, my reving limit at 3k, i changed the tps and then found out it was my ecu all along- the code it gave was 4

 

its your ecu. if somebody did your swap and they did a bad job of plugging things up your ecu will go into lint mode(i think thats what its called). run another ecu and it should clear it up and have someone clean up your swap.

 

You mean limp mode. And limp mode does not limit your RPM, it just dumps a bunch of fuel and kills all your power.

 

I don't know whats wrong with his car. omgwtfbbq! doesnt know whats wrong with his car. So I don't know how you can assume what's wrong with his car with the little info he's posted over the internet.

If you know your wiring is messed up. Fix that first. If you still throw CEL codes. Check them The new cel thread (how-to & codes) - Honda-Tech

 

guys thanx.. but i changed my ECu just today my friend sold me his old one for 40 bucks it works fine on his accord but keeps doin it chek engine light is goin off and on idk wats wrong some people tell me it could be the distributor.. could it be? im still goin to buy one and try if not thenm ima return it lol

 

oh sorry year is 94 his is too its same model LX..
