Ok it bugs me when people want to sound cool or try and fit in and say that their car is "jdm" and that they have an "eg coupe" or an "ek coupe". Funny but that doesn't exist and when i call out people about it they get hostile and want to start arguing. The proof is in the text people. READ!

I'll be honest and say I never knew that.

I've been on TR for several years, and I just thought EK was the USDM code for the Civic. I never looked into it.

So I actually have an EJ8. Interesting.

Right. Many people just assume they have an "Ek" just because their Civic is anywhere from 96-00 but their are many different chassis codes as provided in links.

96-00 civics = ek's

92-95 civic = eg's

90-93 tegs = da's

94-01 tegs = dc's


but hey....that's just me. i'm not cool.

The EG/EK/DC/DA you're used to seeing is just a generalization for a certain model year of the vehicle.

Although I have seen some idiots label their cars as ek9 when its a dx 2000 hatch.
