Can a automatic P28 Ecu really be set to 5speed

can i really turn a auto ecu into a 5speed ecu?i know it is missing the chip but how else if anyone has a write up or knows

As mentioned before:
remove RP17 and RP18
replace RP18 with a jumper wire

dont mean to threadjack but i also had a question as to has much of a difference an auto p28 has compared to a 5 speed p28?

You obviously dont get it. auto to 5 speed.. remove both r17 and r18, jumper r18. Done, it is now 5 speed.

Not a huge difference. A 5 speed p28 ecu shares the same board as an automatic, the only difference is the components on the ecu such as extra transistors for the automatic ecu etc.
