Exclamation 98 Accord Temp Guage all the way up ??????

I have a 98 Accord with 60k miles. the car has no issues at all but once you start it, a few seconds later the temp gauge shoots all teh way up and stays there. Mechanically its fine and definitely not overheating. Is this something common or easily fixable? Thanks guys

try replacing the temperature switch, it looks like this AutoZone.com | Vehicle Selection - Year . I have seen them go bad before and caused the same problem on a few b-series motors.
