I have purchased the p30 pistons so whenever i get those, i'll put them in. I have agsr tranny with a 3rd gear to rebuild. Once all that is done and ready, I'll swap the y8 for the LS and be happy.
Then, as many here have mentionned, the money from the y8 will help compensate the current expenses and start the turbo + tune fund.
COnsidering it's quite a bit of money and i don't have a job, that may take some time, but I'll try to be patient I may build or change some OEM parts before i boost in order to try and keep the motor reliable. at that time, probablt take out the p30's and put the stock ones back since, all stock, apparently the LS is indeed pretty close to ideal for boost

its a project hopefully will be done in a couple of months...
I don't understand why you would put in the P30's then take them back out to put the stock Ls pistons back in. Save yourself some time and money and if you have decided to go for boost save up for some turbo pieces while you have a reliable LS as a dd.

p30 pistons do not equal reliability, though they do = higher compression which ='s higher horse power, naturally aspirated. reliability, on the other hand does = lack of detonation. pr4s or whatever the LS pistons are in that motor will lower the compression to a safe, tunable level on 93 octane with the LS head, from what I understand. if he were to use those p30 pistons in the LS block with the turbo setup, he would have to go with a VTEC head and some shorter connecting rods (b16a rods) to keep the compression ratio streetable/tuneable on 93 octane and at the same time, he would have to stick with that rod/piston combo to keep the power of the b18a/b rods and pistons, if and when he boost the motor. so, if you go boost, stay LS all the way. well, that is at least how I see it, lol
