obd1 reads less sensors that deal with emmsions so technicaly you can perform more mods with out throwing codes and can make more power plus obd2 is nightmare! also why do you have yahoo title on your sig???? just wondering

 

ohh ya forgot!!! you can run chiped ecu with obd1!! try p28 95 ex ecu reprogramed to skunk2 dohc i seen happy people running that program! good luck and also you need to buy obd1 to obd2 harness from skunk2 or local boy kenji!

 

also you dont have a second o2 sensor wich will enable you to run a testpipe.

 

well you have to have a rom burner and the programs so you can reprogram them into the ecu! and the 95 ex ecu is the p28 and it is perferct for reprogaming into a dohc vtec program! though watch out for the cruise control light it will come on! 95civex if ya get a swap keep that p28 and send it out or let kenji or someone local reprogam it for ya! people get p28 cause does same job and is cheaper!

 

I think what eric is trying to say is you dont need to worry about chipping your ecu for your ex... people use the p28 for chipping to use with dohc vtec motors... if you chipped yours you will end up running way too rich due to the new fuel map and you could run the chance of reving too high because most programs raise the rev limiter....

 

to tell you the truth my jr. technician j99jm really seems to be confused in the fact that you clearly state chiping to a DOHC and a chiped program optimizes ( not make run too rich) the feul curve and air fuel ratio and most programs also rasie the rev limter to around 9000+/- which is ideal for a built motor with CAMS right justin!!!!!!! god i love my JR tech j/j
