So after work Im gonna hard wire a radar detector in my 99 Si. Wheres the most convenient power source if Im gonna mount it in the bottom driver side corner? Fuse box? Im old school and ghetto when it comes to electrical systems so help me out. Oh and I want it to be hot only when the ignition is on. Thanks in advance!

if you only want it to be hot when the ignition is on you can wire it to the yellow wire if you have an aftermarket radio otherwise put it on any accesory item in your fuse box that will only be on when the ignition is on ie cig lighter radio etc....
just hook it up to your ciggarette liter or your radio easiest and fastest thing to hook it to. goodluck and god bless the multimeter

Ok. Im feeling mentally challenged.
Alot of this comes from the fact that this is my first time messing with a car with more than 8 wires under the dash but Im boggled.
In theory if I locate the fuse for the lighter/acces. there should be voltage runnin through it correct?
Heres how it went down.
check the cig lighter yup.
locate fuse for lighter.
pull fuse.
check fuse port(or whatever you wanna call it) for voltage... NOTHING
hmmmm....

Alright so I decided since it was getting dark and my patience is getting thin that fuck it. Ill get a little ghetto on this mofo.
So I tap into the power mirror wires split em solder connections run the wire under the molding to where Im gonna mount the sucker.
It doesnt work.
It gets power and does nothing with it. The fuckin radar detector is shot.

So I kicked a 5 gallon bucket across my yard and that made me feel better.
Stay tuned for tomorrows exciting episode of Honda Newbie as I attempt to advance the timing! *gasp!*

And if you dont mess around with stuff how do you learn?
It wasnt a total loss Ive got a real nice soldered power source right by the fuse box now.
