So I think someone tried to break into my car the other day and steal the bitch. I went to pop my hood and the cable was all ripped up under my pedals and shit.

Now it won't pop open. I heard there's a way to get under the front bumper and pop it open but I'm clueless on stealing cars and breaking and entering... unfortunately now I have to break into my own shit just to change my fluids..

The car's an EJ1 Honda Civic coupe. I could use some help on popping my hood because my damn fender is rubbing my door.

Speaking of that is there a certain way to line up the fender with the door to where the gap is not too far apart and it doesn't touch? If so could you link me to a website that has some instructions on lining up that ish, cuz I'm having a hard time with that too.. I was working on that when I figured out someone f'd with my car.

if there is cable left just get a pliers or vise grip and pull til it pops up.
for the fender when you get the hood open loosen the bolts for the fender and adjust accordingly to clear the section that is rubbing.

and for the fender, I've been doing that, but it doesn't work. So idk wtf I'm doing wrong

the wire's not going to pull... I think it might be cut.

Any other suggestion.

jack the car up and raach up under the bumper, i think you have to break the cable and pull on it till it pops, if its cut then who cares? youll need a new one anyway, theyre like $30 from the dealer. you also might have to remove the bolts that hold the undercarriage protector thingy so you can get yer hand in between the radiator support and bumper.

theres a few ways you can go about gettin to the cable...like stated, you can jack up the car and reach the cable from under the front bumper...if someone popped it that way, it might just be off the track (happened to me when someone tried gettin into mine)....if its off track, and by track i mean by not hooked onto the latch, then pullin it from the iinside wont pop it open...if it is on track and you cant reach it that way, take out your fender well and the cable runs above it underneath the fender. I suggest if you need to replace the cable, you might as well re-locate it to the engine bay (1 more safety precaution) g/l

Got it figured out tonight.

Apparently it's quite easy to steal a civic lol.



A friend of mine just popped it by pushing the latch from reaching up under the bumper. Pop! Done.. Yeah it looks like someone was messing with the wire cable and threw it out of the snuggle spot it had from the factory... def pisses me off.


And the fender is bent inward so I had to rig it out so it's gapped like a mofo..



Now if anyone has or knows someone who's selling a left (White) fender for an EG civic pm me plz

hit up a junkyard might be lucky to find one in white since white is a common color.
