I hear Megan racing headers hold up real well. You can find them on eBay, obviously. Oh, and Hedman headers suck dick!! DO NOT buy one if you plan on it fitting right. I got two from summit, both were way off. The first one had an arched flange, literally. I put a straight edge to the flange that attaches to the exhaust ports on the head and that shit rocked up and down at least 1/16 of an inch. Hedman said that is the way it is designed. I said, "Bullshit, send me another" and they did. The second set I got is bent wrong. The bottom half's bend, you know the half that is supposed to follow around the oil pan, yeah, that bend is about an inch too late meaning it hits my cross member. I have to call them to send me another and if that shit is fecked up, I'm going to Cali myself to throw it through their front fecking window! lol

the weld is not what you wanted to worry about. Worry about what guage is the piping.

 

you get what you pay for....also any name header will only get you 5-10hp on a good day and you wont feel a difference. it might sound louder but the gain is minumal

 

i got one off the ebays a while ago... the header was to short... i had to get my exhaust fixed after putting it on...


where the cat meets the header... about 1 maybe 2 inches short..

 

if its for a b series motor, ive seen good numbers made off the 4-1 jdm type r stainless knock off headers. not sure what motor ur putting it on, but hell not all ebay headers are that bad. megan makes good headers, and if youre worried about durability, let me put it this way: i cracked a pretty good reputable companies header in a few different places before i ever did any major damage to the egay knock off i had origionally.

 

well they have been ordered and it looks like its a 50/50 between decent and good with a few bad ones, i guess i'll have to find out when they get here. wish me luck lol

 

I got a cheap ebay header for free when I picked up my engine. Its tough as nails and really heavy tube, hasn't cracked yet and I sat the engine on it while it was attached. Works for me till I put my turbo kit on, free was free lol. Its not all shiny like those ones though.


Whether it gains any power, I couldn't say, I never ran a stock one.

 

I have always had fitting problems with the ebay headers...megans are good for the price...The inside of the ebay headers are very roughly put together. I don't think they would flow as well as a megan or dc sports.

 

dont expect them to be "stainless" for long, ive never seen a stainless header that didnt rust after a while. other than that buy them.
