So with all the experience I have had with hondas, I have never ran into a problem with an axle shaft being stuck in the transmission. I had to pull the axle from the boot, to get the tranny off to put a clutch in.

Has anyone ran into this problem before? What was the trick to getting the shaft out of the tranny?

 

Mallet. i'm sure you already tried.

i heard of axles breaking off into the trade completly.

 

I personally use a small pry bar to get the axle out of the tranny, if thats what u r reffering 2. Dont beat on axles with a hammer, there are other options than a hammer

 

pry bar is your friend. it happens to me all the time and i just sit there prying it and rotating it at the same time. eventually it will come out.

I used a pry-bar to try to get it out. Thats the way to do it usually, I had the tranny out and everything, beating on it with a mallet. prying it. Nothing. Wouldnt budge. The other side came out, this one was stuck. I put it all back together, but I was just curious on this, cause I have never had a shaft get stuck. Wondering if the pin got caught up inside.

 

I personally had the same problem before, so I took 2 pry bars(1 on each side of hub) then I just kept on prying back and forth till it popped out of there. I installed a new axle afterwards so im not sure of why it was a issue coming out

 

Ill try that and see if that will work.
