Angry help cel

i been looking and reading but i this havnt found my answer to my question...i had a bad misfire..i changed the spark plugs,spark plugs wire,distributer cap,and distributer rotor and its running a lot better but the damn cel pops up still i dont know what it can be...when i turn on position the cel stay off....NOW FOR MY QUESTION CAN I STILL CHECK MY CEL WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING?

PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!!

You can check it with the ignition on and the car off. The cel code is stored in memory so just use the jumper wire and count the flashes.

i know thats how you do it but the cel goes off when i put the ignition on and the car off...thats why im asking if i can do it while the car on.

You still check the code, its stored in the ECU until it gets reset.

everytime i looked for a code on an OBD-1 car after i shut it off, i get nothing. but yes you can check for codes while its running. this is how ive done it almost everytime.
