Default rattling after timing belt changed.

I recently got my timing belt, power steering belt, and serpentine belt replaced by a TR member (don't like to name names, but still waiting to hear from him). Now, there is some squealing at start up and an annoying rattling noise when braking. But when accelerating everything seems and sounds ok. Any help? Wanna get this thing fixed!

The belts sometimes make that squeeling sound if they are overtightened or are slipping. Sometimes the timing belt does that too if the tensioner pulley was overtightened. As for the rattling sound...check your motor mounts and make certain they are all tight again.

The timing belt is likely slapping the inside of the plastic cover because it is too loose. And as for the belts they are likely too loose as well and causing the squealing.

rattleing maybe be from your timing tensioner not tight or the timeing is off and the rattle is from the valves, you may want to recheck the timing

If the timing belt is rattling, but the tensioner is tight, then the tensioner could be bent. (this happened to my LS motor) As for the squealing, it is either the belt for power steering or alternator could be too tight or loose. Try and move them around and see if there is any tension on the two.

I dont know any shops out there yet, Im still in Colorado for a couple of months. Im sure if you ask, someone on here could give you a hand. Or you could get a chilton handbook for your car and find out how to adjust your timing, if you figure that out, then everything else is easy from there.

any shop should be able to handle this. and please dont drive it until your sure its not the timing belt. unless of course you want to buy a new motor too.
