gotta be more specific man... different people refer to different combos as "frankenstein" engines. like d15 block with d16 vtec head, ls vtec, b20 vtec, etc...

you planning on just keeping it all motor??? You can build a pretty stout all motor LS VTEC with just about all OEM parts....

use pr3 pistons and stock ls rods w/ arp rod bolts. vtec oil, and water pump. sums it up for bottom end. as far as topend that would be a big debate on which parts to use.

whatever you do, be sure to use the Golden Eagle LS VTEC kit... Best way to build a reliable LS VTEC IMO and includes everything you need including the directions...

Personally, I would go with a newer LS block (B18B), bore it, use factory oversized ITR pistons(I believe they come in 81.25 or 81.5mm), OEM rods with ARP bolts, girdle (optional), stock LS crank, ITR oil and water pumps, OEM headgasket, ITR head (or b16 with ITR cams, springs, and retainers...), ITR intake mani., JDM ITR 4-1 header, and a tooooooooon... I've seen this basic setup make 200+ reliably...

yea the golden eagle kit is nice bc ur guaranteed fresh filterd oil for your vtak. im using itr pistons, but if i could do it over again id use the b16 ones bc they press right onto ls rods no prob. ARP bolts is a MUST! im at 11.0:1 compression on a STOCK gsr head n cams, skunk 2 intake mani, hytech rep header and made damn near 180 at the wheels on an OK street tune. could easily make more power with a better tune and some more bolt ons. but u get the picture. 200 at the wheels is definately gettable .

oops i forgot to mention head studs.... but i reccomend those on anything just because a)they are reusable and b) they make taking it apart and putting it back together sooooo much easier...
