p8r head on different b20 block
Hey I was wondering if anyone has ever installed a p8r head on a 8.8:1 compression b20b block and I was wondering if there were valve/piston clearance issues. The reason I ask is that the b20 that the p8r came off has different pistons in it. I was also going to run a crower stage 2 cam in the p8r head and was wondering if I may have issues then.
the b20b and b20z have different pistons in them. My issue is I am wondering if the 33mm intake valves on the p8r ,in conjunction with a slightly larger cam, are going to make contact with the 8.8:1 compression pistons that are designed for the 31mm valves in the p75 head.
that being said I don't think you will have any clearance issues but triple check because I have ben wrong before I will be running stage 3 cams in my ls and from what I read there will be no clearance issues good luck
Id have to say when you're using different sized valves and bigger cams, its always a good idea to degree them in and check piston/valve clearances. Youre going through the trouble, might as well do it right.
