She drives an 03 auto civic. Been giving a bit of turning over before starting for a week or so and wouldn't start tonight. Not the battery b/c tried jumping it. Turns over and tries hard to start. I figured we start with a new starter and go from there.

Am I heading in the right direction or does it seem like I should be looking at the fuel system instead?

We got a ride home tonight but I really want to bring to the car anything necessary to get it running tomorrow morning. Thanks for the input.

 

is it getting spark?

 

Skip on the starter because from what your saying its trying to start. Is the motor turning over fine and it just takes a while for it to fire?

 

is it throwing a CEL?

 

If the motor is cranking/starting its not the starter..!. Check spark, and can you hear your fuel pump prime when you turn your key to the start postion?

 

had this problem in my teg a while back. Check your timing belt?

 

Check for spark and make sure it's getting fuel.

 

So turns out her fuel gauge must be broken. Didn't show empty, but put a few gallons in and it started right up. Thanks all.
