Default NOTEC y7 1/4 super semi build

I got a 97 civic, D16y7,

AEM shortram intake
y8 manifold
obx spacer
4-2-1 header
custom 2.25in exhaust piping
high flow cat, and obx twin loop muffler

simple plans, and i dont want to go vtec, or swap

I know im not looking at any big numbers, so leave it at that.

Bismoto stage one cam and adjustable cam gear

stage one and two are the same price, but im not sure about it, seems safer to go with one, its my big time daily, and i dont realy push her hard to often.

how would i adjust the cam gear?

i was thinking later next year, drop in a z6 tranny, (shorter gear ratios) with a xtd street clutch and 12lb flywheel. we'll see what happens.
im looking at maybe 130-140whp

im not sure about stage one or two..?

I doubt you will be able to hit those numbers with just a cam.

As Kumar said, those numbers are a little high for a fairly stock SOHC non VTEC motor.

My buddy from VA had a built SOHC and made 140. It will take much more than a cam.

SMSP Built D16A6

SMSP 2-1/4" 300 Cell Cat
SMSP 2-1/2" exhaust (Run03)

Delta 272 Cam
Medium head work by DFE
Stock A6 valves and valvetrain
P29 +.25mm pistons (.040" in the hole) block work by DFE
Stock rods resized w/ ARP bolts by DFE
ARP head studs
Stock Crank polished by Justice Racing Engines

boost it. dont waste your money or time on an all motor single cam. ull get better numbers on boost. youll have to dig into the bottom end and make the top end breathe really well to get those numbers from a non vtec single cam. its not really worth it. from the dyno above, your getting just a tad more than a bolt on ls motor with MUCH less tq and way more invested. boost will prob cost you the same and net you 30-40 more hp depending on the tune. plus, its a tank of a 4 door. put something in it with some tq thats gonna get it going. just my .02.

Tank? It weighs a person more than the hatch.

I have a boosted single in my Sedan. Torque is no more an issue than it would be in a hatch or coupe. IMO

4 door ej sedans only 200 lb more than a hatch? what hatch are you talkin about an ep3? generally the lightest of hatches are around 2000-2100 lbs. i highly doubt that sedan weighs 2400 lbs. thats what my sol weighs. but if u drive one i guess uve looked up the specs n what not. either way boost> n/a for a sigle cam.
