Head bolts

Default Head bolts

Anyone reuse stock headbolts and have any issues? I know ur not supposed to retoque them more than once. Ive retorqued mine without asny issues but id like to know everyone else's feesback if u have reused them

It's not recomended as the stock bolts are torque/yield but You can do it ..


I would slightly over torque them when you do it and just double check them periodically if you can't afford new ones . If you can afford it , just pick up some ARP's !

ARP FTW!!! but yes ihave been there before and i over tq them by 5lbs. then sprayed a 75 shot and no problems.

+1. i have retorqued them as well, but Have arp studs now though.

also the best deal i have found on my ARP studs are at United Speed World on Florida ave. and they over night em! (not from japan) heh

or cheaper then ARP to order new ones from honda...
i think i paid 1.70 for each one for my single slam....

ive seen friends try to reuse head bolts and they have snapped a few..

^what i wish they where that cheap,no stock from dealer are about 9$ each so its just better to use arp...but you can reuse stock but like Jap said better off buying new,but i have reuse many many sets and no problems 5 Lbs extra is good MAKE SURE YOU tq them down in order

1.78 each from Majestic Honda Online!. Most stuff is cheap as hell on this page.. And they ship it to you fast!!!

oh ok i am talking about vtec bolts thats why,not the d16y7 head uses the 120mm vtecs are 140mm

ok still cheap..... 1.78 each.... for D16Y8 head bolts...

#18 is the head bolt. Web site says the D16Y8 ones and the D16y7 use the same head bolts.. The dual cam head bolts for say a 00 si are 6.36 each..... still cheaper then Arp... not better but cheaper.
