What would be the general price for putting on a 1.8 block onto a b16a head? What would the torque/hp raise to?

Well it all depends. I bought an ls block and built it to rev to 9k rpms and yeild 11:1 compression w/ a b16a head for about a $1000. Just a reference.

Thanks man did you have to get motor mounts or anything like that to hold the block?

Maybe I am missing something but why would anyone want to use a b16a head on an 1.8 LS block? Why not get an LS block and use a B18c1 head? Just wondering what kind of a difference is produced...

Actually you can get an ls block off the parts trader right now for about $100 and build from there. Its FRANKENSTIEN http://www.importtunermagazine.com has an article with the specific numbers on a frankenstien build right now in tech section. That should help.

What do you think about a 1.8 gsr block so then I wouldnt have to build the bottom end to support the revs?

The b16a head is the same casting as the type r head just w/ less aggressive cams and valves. Just because it is off of a 1.6L motor does not mean it doesnt fit the 1.8L block just as well.
