Default vtec wiring homebrew vtec controller

i want to use a tac with an adjustable shift light to control my vtec, does anyone know which wire gets the tac signal, or if this will even work. im pretty sure all it needs is a signal and a shiftlight will give it at the correct rpm.

if yer talking about tuning a non-vtec ecu to run vtec it will sorta work the way your thinking....but it still wont be right....just get a vtec ecu and get it chipped...the right way is ALWAYS the better route in the end.

Default alternative...

I have a msd rpm activated switch (can change between rpm "pills" to cut on vtec or whatever accesory u would want to hook it to) that i will let go cheap if you are interested, it was used on my old H22 accord for the vtec, but like what you are saying about using the tach, you would need to adjust/raise the fuel flow from the rpm when vtec engages all the way to redline to get the full potential of the motor, i used this and a safc before i found a p13 ecu for the Acclude and ran a couple tenths of a second quicker in the 1/4 with this setup...although prolly not as safe as the vtec ecu

where are you located around? i dont have a honda now but it is all i use to have, and what i miss deeply now lol, and i'm looking for any buddies (new to the area with basically no friends here) havent actually seen it done from the tach but i dont see why it wouldnt work, just have to make sure to address the fuel starvation while in vtec somehow to get good power, if not you will run lean in vtec and have MUCH less power than you the motor should be making

i live in brandon. i only want to set vtec to engage at 4500. its just because i have 18" wheels and when i shift it drops to 4500. i was deciding between this and putting a manual trigger button on the shifter so i could run it on stock settings or engage it at will. this is only temperary until i build my turbo manifold. does anyone know if it is a common flange on the f20 so i can cross refrence?

the f20b is uses the same head casting as the h22 just with different cams and may have slightly different sized ports, so the exhaust manifold flange would be the same for the two

basically all of the turbo kits out there for your prelude will be the same as on the stock h22, prolly be a lot cheaper and have a lot less r&d than building one yourself, the only physical difference i would think between the f20 and the h22 would be the height of the block, which might mean you need a slightly shorter intercooler piping
