any one got a place that list the cc range of heads?.i could always do a fly cut to the stock pistons to get the clearance i need...12-1 was just an idea an a guess of where i would need to be at to get the 200hp goal.as 4 the fuel system i figured i would have to go to bigger injectors.

whats the bore and stroke on them and how long are the rods..also whats the valve size on most of them heads..

the side load on the rings i wouldn't think would be that much greater of a load with just a 1k more rpms..maybe its just the ring package on the stock pistons..

c-speedracing.com has a pretty good compresson calculator for hondas. u can choose pistons, head gasket thicknes, head, block, etc....i can tell you that the gsr/type r motors have longer rods to compensate their shorter stroke than the ls motors. thus giving the ls its less than ideal rod/stroke ratio. if u use a gsr head over a b16/type r head, expect about a .3 increase in compression. u can expect about the same increase from a 2 layer head gasket too, but your only problem is most are made strictly for b sereis vtec motors. when u do ls vtec u have to modify a ls head gasket. the b series vtec ones arent compatible. i am also in agreement with what was said above....if ur gonna spin that motor past 7k u better upgrade the rod bolts. the pistons are just an added benifit because you get the greatest bump in compression. IMO b16 pistons are best to use with stock ls rods bc they press right on. there is no midifcation needed like type r pistons. so for example, using jdm b16 (p30) pistons with a gsr head and a 3 layer head gasket you get about 11.8:1 compression. thats about max for the street IMO. ur gonna need a fuel pump and bigger injectors as well. 200 whp is definately reachable n/a. like i said i was about 20 hp away with just a street tune and STOCk gsr cams. with bigger cams and a fuel system u can definately reach 200 whp n/a....especially at that compression level. good luck with the build!

DO NOT MILL THE HEAD FOR COMPRESSION and stick with a stock layer headGasket,a ls bottom can rev just as high as any with little work i.e rod bolts and polishing the crank...you can use honda parts but to me is a waste of money yes they are good but you can get everything for 1/3 the price and still be reliable.. if i was going for around 200 this is my list
82mm Itr pistons
block guard
arp rod/head bolts
set or race rod bearings"cause im sure you going to beat the motor"BUT ONLY IF THE CRANK GETS POLISHED
vtec head b16
nice spring/tt reatainers
a 12.7mm lift+ cam
nice vtec oil line"NOT GOLDEN eagle kits"
a nice 10lb flywheel
i would also buy a obd2 oil pump they are made 80mm insted of your ls 84mm
a good ecu and Tune on the motor
i have built a couple motor as such with around the 190Hp with this and still running strong and not wasteing money

only reason i would mill the head is due to me porting the chambers and shaping them.so i would due that to get the cc back to around stock.

i know a ton of tricks to get hp out of engines..but i always have only fucked with small blocks and some big blocks chevys..

i've had 13-1 comp pump gas engine making 750hp with stock crank.rods and on 2 bolt main block on 150shot..my wildest sb was a 880hp monster setup for 2 stages of juice which would of put the engine at 1600hp,

thanks for the imput
