Im doing Ls/Vtec and want to increase compression from my stock 10.2 to 11.0 - 11.2 Or atleast increase comprssion to 10.6 What would be the most cost effective way without having to use cam gears or after market pistons?
CTR pistons?
JDM ITR pistons?
Oh by the way im keeping the stock head.
Decking the block and using only the mid and lower pieces of the head gasket? is this an option or would i need the came gears because of the dcrease in clearance?

I know the CTR pistons Comp is not to high but im wondering if the top is to high is the quench area large enough so that nothing taps? If so ill go withctr pistons but im just not sure.

Stick w/ under 12:1. Running 12:1 is at the very edge of what is possible to run on pump gas and keeps you from being able to advance ign timing. Unless your planning on running some very big cams you will be able to make just as much power and be more reliable running about 11-11.6:1 w/ timing advance.
Comp numbers:
lsvtec b16a head w/ usdm itr pist ~ 10.9:1
lsvtec b16a head w jdm itr pist ~11.2:1 (best choice)
lsvtec b16a head w/ usdm b16a pist ~ 11.6:1
gsr head will yield a little higher c/r

any idea what compression i will be putting down the the usdm b16a pistons because i can get thoughs for free.

b16a jdm pistons compression is 10.4:1 how come so much higher with new block? The stroke changes compression by over a point? Never knew that.
