Default track help

For those of you who run consistent 2.0 or better 60fts...

Here is my problem, I am running nitto 555r 205-55-14 radials on my hatch and I can't seem to run better than a 2.2 60ft even when tires are heated up and down to 12psi. I ran the same 60ft's with street tires and basically the same setup. I launched between 3k-4500rpm (tried many different rpms) and still kept breaking first loose and some of second and chirping third. I know I don't have the power to be doing this so whats up? I've tried dumping the clutch, easing out of it, going through the water box, heating up dry, and not heating at all, and at 12psi,16psi,18,27...any help or ideas on getting a lower 60 is greatly appreciated.

i have the same exact tires. i run mine at 18psi. i just do a "rolling burnout" up to the line to get them warm. and i slip the clutch when i launch.

now every car is different, my suspension is different than yours. i have mine a little lower in the front to help with weight transfer.

i get fairly consistant 2.0 60 ft.'s never had better than that. but ive never ran anything besides the 205-55-14 nitto... i need slicks!

I'm running kyb agx struts and ractive coilovers...the struts were set to firm all around...the car has a slight forward rake to it. I know every car is different but I just curious as to why I am spinning these tires like I do and what other people do to improve their 60's.

stiffen up the rear and soften up the fron on your shoks...that might help get some more weight over the front.

wait. You've got 135hp and nitto drag radials aren't getting you a better 60' time?

Driver mod is required. Practice, practice, practice. Warm up the tires good. You should have no problems getting sub 2 second times with radials, especially at that power level. Bigger tires are not required.....they'll slow you down.

try a 2nd gear burnout to get the tires really spinning and heated up. try launching at 5k rpms. if you can you can try some bf goodrich g forces (the first version). also you can try a little bit lower tire pressure, but be careful when slowing down do not slam on the brakes. one last thing make sure the clutch is adjusted properly. good luck. practice practice seat time seat time

I was saying that just rolling into 1st off an easy launch they will break loose...like I can never go full throttle in first...when I shift second I just feel like I'm on street tires. The cars probably putting down like 150ish/130ish but thats not really a huge difference (when I dynoed I had it 6 degrees ignition retard for my nitrous setup and didn't pay attention)...yea I know I need practice and as for the gforces....my buddy had both the nittos and gforces with is 300hp civic and he said the nittos seemed better. I'm going to try to get some money together to invest in some traction bars and more seat time.
