When i first bought my car it would take like 20 minutes for it to get warmed up. I figured it didnt have a thermostat since it always ran so cold. Then recently as ive been driving my car daily, it now takes the regular amount of 5-10 mins to get to 1/4 temp. When sitting it gets to 1/2 but the fan almost never turns on. While driving it stays around 1/4 to near 1/2 temp, and it varies. Now, is there a SIMPLE way to check if i do have a thermostat and my 2nd question is, is it better to run with NO thermostat, or With?? i have a 94 integra with 190k

i saw on team integra where it was but you have to take off like 40 hoses and shit and im too lazy to do all that to just check, i was hoping that before i spend the 20 bucks and put in the 18 hours of labor, if it would really make a diff. I figured since the coolant is not passing slow enough its not cooling and leaving hot spots but its a honda so who knows.......

its better to run with one....if its running to cool you run almost the same risks as running hot....

example...go spray a light bulb with a squirtgun...it will break....gaskets do the same thing and heads warp...

buut you might just wanna check your temp sender...ive had three hondas that they went bad on and gave false readings...

or maybe your thermostat is backwards, or just bad. or maybe your fan switch is falty.

did you bleed the system when after you put it in? heater core included?

it runs perfect, warms up in 5-10 minutes, doesnt pass 1/2 temp, usually stays around 1/4 and 3/7.......i just assumed it didnt have one becuz when i first got it it would literally take about 30 mins for it to get warm...now it gets warm normal
