Default Anyone want free help with a wire tuck?

Hey guys,

I did a tuck on a friends EF a while back.. I was wondering if anyone here with an EG/DC wanted me to help them do a wire tuck for free. It should only take us a weekend of work.

I am offering this because I want to have the chance to tuck an EG. The EF is supposedly the hardest, and it went flawlessly by myself... only took a day. I am very confident that the EG will be no problem for me, but understand that uncontrollable things *do* happen. I expect you to be able to troubleshoot any problems at least as well as I can (and I'm rather good at it), unless you're willing to take the risk of not understanding any common problem that may arise.

All you have to do is pay for things like food, drink, and any electrical supplies we might need.

Basically I'm offering you my help and experience from tucking an EF for free. In exchange you give me the experience of tucking an EG and hook me up with lunch once or twice. Anyone interested?

You have to have a disclaimer for everything these days, that's all. The chance of that happening would be slim to none. The most common problem is a headlight being more dim because of bad soldering... but EGs you dont even have to cut anything I've been told so that isn't an issue... You just have to depin the plugs to get it through the firewall, and make sure you repin everything correctly. A no brainer with a Helms manual, but without one you have to mark and record everything... really easy with 2 ppl.

Also you don't even really touch the engine harness... It's mostly the side headlight harnesses.

A wire tuck is one of those things where it's super helpful to have a second car to drive to work etc just in case wiring takes longer than expected//plans change//funds die.

I haven't even bothered doing research on wire tucking DSMs... Have you seen anyone do it to the same gen as your TSi? Wire tucks are wire tucks... it's just some companies design harnesses that happen to be easy and others harder...

I did see it done on my buddies TSi, he went nuts though and it was a lil easier considering he took EVERYTHING out except the lights. Im sure it would not be too hard I will attempt either way. When I do Ill give you a ring and you can be there for moral support.

When I did the EF I took off both fenders and the dashboard... once those things are off and the battery is out you can pretty much get to all the wiring.

I'd love to give you a hand, any ideas when you'll start working on it?
