did you check to see if the head was warped or cracked, cause that could be the culprit.

it could be the rings. Do a compression check. Look in the book for that vehicle or just call discount and ask them what the compression numbers should be. they should all be about the same. if its too low then the rings arent sealing properly and letting oil get into the cylinders.
just an idea. a compression tester is only like 20 bucks. you can even rent them for free at auto zone. out down a 20 dollar deposit and they give it all back to you when you return it.

if it was a fuel issue the smoke would be a black or dark color. totally different. you would notice it real quick if it was a fuel issue. but a white, blueish color is for sure oil burning. just do a compression check. It wont cost you anything and it will give a lot of useful info in diagnosing your problem.
