Default I keep blowing oil pan gaskets?

As the title says I keep blowing pan gaskets. I'm about to go nuts. I've replaced the pcv valve. As far as i know everything is hooked up right. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure if I've got some vaccum lines crossed or not I eleminated a hand full of them mostly just the ones that went to the firewall because I didn't wire in the plugs into the harness, Car idles fine. thanks much (B18a1 w type R pistons, full floating wrist pins)

while the car is running, remove the oil cap. if there is an excesive amount of pressure coming out, something is wrong. if not check the pan to make sure the mating surface is flat and dont overtighten the bolts.

ok there is an abnormal amount of pressure coming from the valve cover while at idle. What should I be looking for?

you should most likely be looking for new piston rings

It's a freshly built motor 750 miles on it.

sometimes the rings just dont seat. wether clearances are off or the block wasnt properly honed, or you washed out the rings with too much fuel, or whatever the case may be... seen it many times... that first startup is the most crucial time for a fresh build

without a new hone to set those rings, it will just do the same thing all over again. You need some kind of surface on the cyl. walls to get those rings set.

might be the rings

first things first though

how much did you torque the pan bolts to?
i think they're only supposed to around 8-9 ftlbs

and like someone already said... the oil pan mating surface not being completely flat can cause an issue aswell

i went through 3 oil pan gaskets before i realised there was a raised section in the area of where it was blowing out... i took a hammer to it and flattened it out and have been good for 2 months now
