Muffler
This is really not for the hard core racing mode guys...because you guys will just tell me not to do this im sure...but here is my question:I just want to buy a nice racing muffler..for right now...and then take it to a shop later and have them make a phatter tubing than the oem exhaust that is on there now....would this work just as good as buying the whole expensive cat-back systems...or at least will help right????/

Want my opinion (DO NOT LISTEN TO ME!!!)? Get a dynomax straight through muffler 2.25in 2.25out and mandrel bent custom 2.25 piping. It will cost about 200 and you will have the same power quieter but equally deep sound and looks stock.

well for starters do what you like and never listen to anyone else its your money spend it how you please...just be ready to be made fun of if it looks and sonds like shit. if you are planning to do all the work on a custom exhaust why not just wait and save for a greddy or a tanabe or even a hks. personaly i like 5 zigen and thermal research and development exhaust systems. i have back half section of a greddy evo for sale if you are interested and if so send me a pm it is for a civic ex. but my whole point is why spend money on something you will probably change outu later why not wait for the real thing have a nice day.
I know there are tons of people who just have a muffler on their civs and i think it sounds good....do u really think it sounds bad?...Im not sure i uderstand the difference in a back section of an exhaust systema mufflerand the whole cat back???can anybody help me out?

wel in your last question the answers are really self explanitory. i only wnetioned the exhaust cause i am tired of looking at it sitting in my back room. a full cat back will get you the most hp gains more times than not. but adding a muffler and having a custom cat back made will more than likely give you the same numbers all i was saying is why spend close to the same for a custom made exhaust that will probably sound somewhat decent but will not look or sound the same as a greddy or a tanabe. but it all comes down to personal preference and your money is yours to spend.
