Default CRX HF Head swap ???

I have a 89 crx HF. I know little to anything about modding them. A local guy has a b16 head. In good shape. He wants to swap the b16 head on my stock hf motor. He says it will work without any other mods. Is this true? Also he says the HF's have the SI tranny?? All hellp appreciated.. Thanks ,Joe

Yeah, You Could Do The Mini Me Swap. Thats Getting A Single Cam Vtech Head. Like D16z6 Or Y8 Head Will Bolt On To The Block Of You D15. But Also You Could Convert Your Obd0 To Obd1 And Use The P28 Ecu From Obd1 Will Help You Out As Well.

thanks. bear with me I'm a noob So with the head swap(d16 or y do I need to swap the ECU?? or is just switching the ecu a plus. I mean is it a good thing to switch the ecu to a p28 alone and with the head swap.
I believe the local guy siad we could do a " mini me" with my hf. Thanks alot, Joe

Yeah, Cause The Ecu Is Used For Vtech Motors. And Whats Good That The P28 Could Be Chipped Up For Better Tunning As Well.

ok, my friend has a z6 head. I havea 89 crx hf(8v) Willl the z6 head fit. I'[ve been told by some yes some no.. They said that the hf pistons only have 2 reliefs for the valves per piston instead of 4 so a 16valve head won't work becuase theres not 4 reliefs per pistion.. is this true??? if so what can I do to make the HF faster??? thanks, Joe

ive seen it done on vx engines same issue as a hf. 2 releives instead of 4. just make sure you timing is dead on and you should be good. also get rid of the hf intake and exhaust manifolds. you could run a vtec controller if you dont have the money for a odb1 conversion but you will deff wanna get rid of the hf ecu. oh yea and the hf trans has gotta go . bascially just look for a new complete drivetrain
